Among a flurry of video vendor announcements this week, Gracenote’s new Audience Predict feature is pick of the bunch – positioned as a forecasting tool which is something we have noticed becoming ever-present within the content analytics toolbox. It’s obvious that the Gracenote team is rather excited about this one. Anything that can accurately predict the future brings huge value to customers – from projecting business conditions like sales, product demand, infrastructure requirements, energy needs and staffing levels, to predicting network bottlenecks before they happen, and of course forecasting the success of content programming itself.
