Broadpeak’s win with Telecom Italia is being extended to the satellite realm, this week, as TIM and Eutelsat announced a new project to use Broadpeak’s edge-caching stack in a Multicast-ABR (M-ABR) mode for satellite broadband customers. This comes as the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the European Space Agency (ESA) announce an ‘edgecasting’ project, to explore how satellite and 5G can be paired together.
