FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr has launched a tirade against TikTok. While it’s no closely-guarded secret that the video app sensation – owned by Chinese firm ByteDance – is arguably the most aggressive data harvester of all the world’s social media platforms, there are fresh concerns that TikTok is not only a national security hazard but has also violated app store rules. Commissioner Carr has therefore implored Apple and Google to immediately remove TikTok from their respective app stores.
