Casual observers of the WiFi scene could be forgiven for thinking that the field keeps going back to the future with promises of revolutionizing home network performance yet again. Even the same technologies seemingly return with successive releases, the latest one being WiFi mesh in which access points (APs), or routers, are combined into a coherent network for improved performance, resilience and coverage around the premises.
