DirecTV has secured a multi-year contract renewal for the commercial rights to the NFL’s Sunday Ticket rights package, which allows buyers to show out-of-market games on their premises. The new deal has been brokered with EverPass Media, the organization established by the NFL in partnership with RedBird Capital Partners. Terms of the deal have not been published. All is known is that it kicks in this year, and is almost certainly costlier than the $100 million that DirecTV was previously thought to be paying annually for the package.
