The European DVB standards group has revised its DVB-I specifications (where the I stands for Internet) designed to unify broadcast TV at both the service and distribution levels, ultimately enabling full migration to internet delivery without an anticipated sacrifice in quality. The demands of 5G multicast/broadcast have loomed increasingly large in this service level, determining first commercial and then technical requirements.
