Faultline’s sister service, Rethink TV, has just published its examination of the impact that the recent Hollywood strikes have had on future content spending, as well as the cost of living surges experienced in many economies. It makes for grim reading, as the previous expectations of content budgets have been severely flattened out – to the tune of $126.2 billion through the period to 2028. Come 2028, there is a $27.4 billion annual difference in the ‘pre-stressor’ projection, a hypothetical scenario where inflation was not so rampant and where the strikes were averted, and the ‘post-stressor’ reality.
