All projections had pointed to a 2024 NAB Show dominated by artificial intelligence, machine learning, and generative AI products, but the pre-event hysteria did not fulfill. Aside from the gimmicky cameo in the press room of Ameca, a humanoid AI plugged into a sassy and sarcastic LLM, the reality was a maturation on the AI front. On the show floor itself, things have settled a layer deeper after a huge proportion of RFPs from video service providers did not manifest into anything tangible.
