The future of content protection technology will not be found on the show floors of major media industry trade shows like NAB. Logos for Nagra, Irdeto, Verimatrix, Intertrust, and FriendMTS are nowhere to be seen at the 2024 NAB Show, although admittedly the latter two are typically less present in Las Vegas. Even the anti-piracy specialists still present on the show floor, namely Synamedia and Viaccess-Orca, talk less and less about security as a core competency.
