Akamai showcased in Q2 2024 that its Compute business segment is more than capable of picking up the slack from media and entertainment clients, to offset the loss of video-related revenues from the company’s traditional CDN segment. Compute revenue was boosted 23% year on year, reaching $151 million in the second quarter, by customers including Latin American operator Claro Video, IPTV and OTT platform MWareTV, an unnamed Australian pay TV provider, and one of the world’s best-known media and entertainment brands in the US.
