Pearl poised for LG’s triumphant return – inevitable or naïve?

Pearl TV, mouthpiece and “friend of the court” for the roll-out of ATSC 3.0 hybrid broadcast technology in the US, was incognito at IBC 2024. After a year of headwinds, chiefly the patent infringement suit which resulted in LG pulling its NextGen TV panels from the market, there is a sense in the camp that surely fortunes are set to turn for the better. Of course, things could just as easily get a whole lot worse first.
