India looks increasingly like it will deploy the North American ATSC 3.0 standards for converged over the air broadcast and broadband delivery of linear TV services, under the banner of B2X (Broadcast to Everything). The mobile dimension has loomed large in this swing towards ATSC 3.0 with further momentum being added by a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that has just been signed by Sinclair Broadcast Group and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) to collaborate on technology and standards development in the area.
