After recently examining the results of the Moscow State University’s codec competition, which suggested that the MPEG and AOMedia families were being surpassed by some lesser-known codecs, we endeavored to learn more about these upstarts. This week, Faultline spoke with Vadim Asadov, CEO of SIF Codec, to understand the mechanics behind the namesake technology. But before we get our hands dirty, we should note there are currently no customers, which is worrying but not surprising.
