Cloud-based broadcast services specialist Amagi has announced a pair of wins in the UK, with both operator Virgin Media O2 (VMO2) and broadcaster UKTV launching free ad-supported TV (FAST) services using Amagi’s SaaS offerings. With VMO2, Amagi is joined by 24i, the sister company of Amino under the Aferian umbrella, which is adding its customer experience services to the installation. This will see VMO2 push 14 channels to its V6, TV 360, and Stream set tops. Its subscribers will not be charged for these new channels, which would be a difficult upsell in the current economic climate.
