Fueled with the knowledge of how OpenAI was poised to change the world, two former employees disbanded and sought to form a challenger to the company’s revolutionary ChatGPT, ahead of the 2023 generative AI bubble. Founded in 2021, it has taken two years for Anthropic to claim an all-important edge over OpenAI, this week claiming that its Claude 3 family of large language models (LLMs) can outperform OpenAI’s GPT-4, as well as Google’s Gemini Ultra LLM, on a slate of tests.
