A London press event hosted just before the New Year featured a self-professed one-trick pony called GridSearch, presenting its new video search tool which claims to help users pinpoint locations within video files faster and more accurately than any other search tool on the market. This strikes us as a technology slightly ahead of its time. GridSearch’s idea is one that, in a UX market bereft of differentiation, streaming services might be inclined to steal. Crucially, on that front, GridSearch confirmed to Faultline that it has been granted patents in the US, Canada, UK, Europe, China, Japan, South Korea, and Australia.
