DVB, the standards-setter for the TV industry, has signaled its intention to enable use of CMCD—the CTA’s Common Media Client Data standard–for broadcasters, OEMs, and CDN providers using DVB-I (the body’s internet-based specifications). The aim is to improve the quality of service (QoS) offered by CDNs, to ultimately benefit the quality of experience (QoE) for end users.
