A major challenge for network companies in a software-defined age is to restructure the operational and business support systems (OSS/BSS) on which carriers’ businesses rest – failing essential change, those platforms will restrict the impact of virtualization in other parts of the network. Ericsson held an analyst telebriefing this week to provide updates on its OSS/BSS strategies, which it said it originally started working on in 2009.
