FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler has announced he will be stepping down from the helm on January 20th, the same day that President-elect Donald Trump will be inaugurated. Wheeler’s resignation deals a big blow for consumers, particularly concerning net neutrality and the open set top initiative. No interim chair has yet to be named. The tenure of Democratic commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel will also end at the end of this year.
