Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp has received acquisition offers for Foxtel, its Australian pay TV division, following a strategic business review which confirms that Foxtel is failing to diversify its business from linear TV to streaming-led revenues. Deal or no deal, these trends could have downstream consequences for Comcast’s goal of growing a global video software licensing business, after Foxtel became one of the first syndication partners for the US operator’s Sky Glass platform back in 2021.
