Edge delivery provider Gcore has acquired the web application and API protection (WAAP) assets from fallen CDN soldier StackPath, making public what Gcore executives had confirmed covertly to Faultline in recent weeks. We understand that another recent casualty of the changing landscape of content delivery, Lumen Technologies, is still attempting to sell its own web application firewall (WAF) business, after courting these security assets to smaller CDN providers, including CacheFly.
