The SaaS-ification of Harmonic’s business model continues to charge on, patching over the decline in net quarterly revenue that blemished the US technology vendor’s otherwise positive second quarter 2023 results. Company guidance for Q3, however, is concerning. Harmonic reported net revenue of $156 million for the second quarter, down 1% on both a year-on-year and quarterly rolling basis. Showcasing a common theme of recent quarters, the decline in traditional video revenues (down 22% YoY) was offset by the usual rise of broadband revenues (up 20% YoY).
