Just in time for the return of live sports, ESPN has found a new technology partner for its podcasts in Washington DC-based platform, Megaphone. Disney’s sports network will now use Megaphone, formerly known as Panoply Media, for its publishing and dynamic ad-insertion capabilities. This is a sizable win for a company that already has a stellar footprint in what many are seeing as an incredibly promising market. A recent whitepaper from AdsWizz predicted that podcast ad spend is set to surpass $1 billion in the next year, while Ovum estimates that 1.85 billion people will be listening to podcasts come 2023.
