Russia’s Mobile TeleSystems (MTS), in the midst of a major video service restructuring, has announced that it will imminently launch a new OTT streaming service. Called Kion, the SVoD app will contain some 12,000 titles by year-end, and also house live channels. An ad-supported tier will also be launched later, and there’s even a Quibi angle, thanks to short-form content. MTS has been trying to consolidate its disparate pay TV service for the best part of a year now.
