Netflix came tantalizingly close to registering a new record quarter for profit in Q3 2023. The third quarter’s take home of $1.68 billion in net income, from record revenue of $8.54 billion, was eclipsed only by the $1.7 billion net income achieved in Q1 2021. This comes as Netflix reported 247 million total paid subscribers, adding 8.8 million users in Q3 2023 and 24 million year-to-date. While the fourth quarter is traditionally a tricky period for profit, with Netflix’s net income forecast at $956 million for the current quarter, the profitable streamer is certain to pass 250 million paid subscribers for the first time in Q4 2023.
