Networks spin off plan paves way for SES Video mega-merger

In its first annual report since reintegrating the MX1 division and cutting the low-margin MX1 UK business loose, satellite fleet operator SES reported an expected slump in video revenues – falling 7.1% to a little over €1.98 billion for the full year 2019. The resolution? More split offs, of course, with SES now floating the idea of separating its Networks business. While contentious, it would increase the chances of SES Video being allowed to merge with a rival satellite company – creating a behemoth capable of surviving shifting industry trends (unlike the current business).
