Every now and then, a press release arrives on Faultline’s desk to deliver a stark reminder that organizations considered fallen soldiers in media and entertainment are very much still forces to be reckoned with in video technology R&D. A prominent example is Nokia, which this week announced it has signed a multi-year patent license agreement with Samsung, to cover the use of key Nokia video technologies in Samsung TV sets.
