A European tidbit caught our eye this week, as Orange reportedly stopped offering its satellite TV offering to customers in Slovakia. In isolation, this wouldn’t be of note, as Orange has an IPTV offering it wants to promote, but Orange did just buy the entire capacity of a recent Eutelsat satellite launch, to provide wholesale coverage in France. Now, there is of course a distinction to be made. The French deal appears to primarily be for broadband services, whereas with Orange Slovakia (Orange Slovensko), it was for television.
