Five years ago this week… Desperate to get a foothold in OTT, Cisco acquired 1 Mainstream, a cloud-based video platform for fast launches of live and on-demand OTT services. Ericsson had Azuki at the time, and Cisco was seriously lagging in offering an end-to-end OTT product, despite having already acquired various companies that looked set to get it on that path.
