There was no room for Plume in Comcast’s new xFi Pods press release, which might go some way to explaining why Plume has more recently been pitching itself as a Consumer Experience Management Platform for service providers, rather than the mesh WiFi vendor of a few years ago that vowed to come after AirTies’ lunch. Plume was behind the first generation of xFi Pods from Comcast, powered by 2 x 2 WiFi silicon from Qualcomm, while the second-generation of these access points (APs) launched this week raised our suspicions that Comcast had decided to go it alone.
