Disney’s fourth quarter 2024 (fiscal first quarter) earnings were not all rainbows and palaces. The total global subscriber base for Disney+ shrank, losing 0.7 million registered users in the quarter, to total 124.6 million. Facing a retention problem, Disney has warned investors to expect another modest decline in Disney+ subscribers in Q1 2025. The domestic North American base for Disney+ saw a nominal boost of 0.8 million new subs in the quarter, reaching 56.8 million, which was not enough to offset the 1.5 million net cancellations from the international audience.
