How fortuitous that Synamedia has cozied up closer to AWS a few weeks after we contended how the vendor’s apparent preference for Google Cloud was counterintuitive to business. A seemingly harmless press release announcing a collaboration between Synamedia and AWS to accelerate the adoption of cloud TV services is something of a no-brainer. The move alone would not really be newsworthy were in not for previous comments from Synamedia reassuring us of its cloud-agnosticism, coupled with the technical color provided during an associated webinar this week. This really isn’t much more than another reseller agreement between the two companies, albeit a significant one given the reputations of each in their respective sectors.
