Synamedia’s celebratory press release this week on achieving 8K real-time encoding and streaming in its Vivid compression portfolio is a real-life example of how the vendor’s encoders have come to be markedly more powerful in recent years. We would love to say this is much more than a muscle-flexing exercise, but – for now – without any customers, that’s all it is.
