The flat panel display (PFD) equipment market enjoyed the dizzying heights of $20.2 billion in revenues in 2017, but a crash warning was issued this week by IHS Markit – forecasting flat panel display revenues to fall by over $6 billion in just two years. We prefer to view the FPD equipment market as a fragmented one of multiple moving parts, so the real revenue fluctuation is more complex in nature, although the research still suggests enough of a nose dive to cause serious problems for a whole host of manufacturers.
