Dutch video metadata extractor Media Distillery wanted to clear the air with Faultline following some misconceptions about the company’s linear on-demand channel experience at Portuguese cable operator NOS a couple of weeks back. Given the absence of any recommendation or personalization software partner in this particular NOS project, and Media Distillery’s usual policy of sourcing a specialist, there was an assumption that the vendor’s machine learning portfolio was taking on new forms to alienate former partners and reduce costs for customers.
