What does the Fox say? Not much anymore as Disney drops iconic brand

While early figures of Disney+ app downloads in the US are off the charts, embarrassing Apple TV+ in the process, the bigger news for the global content market is that the house of mouse has taken up fox hunting. Reports out this week claim The Walt Company Disney is rebranding 20th Century Fox to 20th Century Studios, while Fox Searchlight Pictures will transform into Searchlight Pictures. Disney’s guzzling of 21st Century Fox studio assets less than a year ago for $71.3 billion, excluding of course the Fox broadcast business, altered the film and TV landscape forever.
